FDS international replaces mori in the world’s biggest network of independent market research organisations

7 July 2006

FDS International has replaced MORI as the exclusive UK member of the International Research InstituteS (IriS), the world’s largest network of independent market research organisations.

With a turnover of €200 million and members in more than 30 countries worldwide, IriS provides a cost effective and professional research presence. IriS members must have a long history of providing effective solutions for business and institutional research requirements and the flexibility to meet all clients’ needs. They must also pass stringent quality standards.

Jhr. Allert R. de Lange, President of IriS, said: “The UK is a very important market and in FDS International we have selected a partner that provides excellent market research services and can work closely with other IriS members around the globe. As a group, IriS is able to rapidly assemble a multi-national, multi-cultural, multi-lingual team with the ability to provide cost-effective, in-depth research, combining our knowledge of international markets with local country analysis.”

FDS International takes up membership of IriS less than a month after the company and the other businesses of FDS Market Research Holdings Limited were acquired by Munro Global Limited, a new independent marketing services company. FDS was established by Janet Weitz, its former Chairman and CEO, in 1972.

With offices in London and Newcastle, FDS International and its sister company, acefieldwork, provide a broad range of market research services. Group turnover was £6 million in 2005, with the Group employing over 120 staff. The company’s impressive, long-standing client base includes such leading brand names as BT, Yell, Identity and Passport Service, British Gas and Jobcentre Plus.

Charlotte Cornish , the new Managing Director of FDS International and Munro Global, said: “We are all delighted that FDS has been selected to succeed MORI as the exclusive UK agency of IriS. For current and prospective FDS clients, the capability to deliver international solutions and local expertise globally through the IriS network further enhances the capabilities of FDS as a leading full-service provider of research services.”
